Fold is a private exchange between two people: you each write one note to the same question, and neither opens until both have written. By using Fold you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

The rules for what you write

You’re responsible for the notes and names you write, and you agree to use Fold only for lawful, respectful messages to a person who wants to hear from you.

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. That includes anything harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable, and any unlawful or abusive use of the app toward the person you’re paired with.

Reporting and blocking

If someone sends you something objectionable, you can report the note from the app, and you can block that person — which ends the exchange, removes the shared notes, and stops them re-pairing with you. We review reports and aim to act on objectionable content and the accounts behind it within 24 hours, including removing content and removing offending users from Fold.

Your notes

Your notes belong to you. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and deliver them to the one person you’re paired with. Notes and titles are encrypted at rest and are never used for advertising or sold. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.

Ending your use

You can delete your account and data at any time from Settings → Delete my data. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.

As-is

Fold is provided “as is,” without warranties, and to the extent the law allows we aren’t liable for content written by the person you fold with. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
